Great Pacific Garbage Patch

I usually avoid our depressing news. I suppose I shouldn't too much, because I have somehow missed this ridiculousness. Thanks Katherine for bringing it to light in your most unique fashion

Holy cow. In summary
  • where is the worlds largest land dump? in the pacific ocean
  • how big? 3.5 million tons big, 90 feet deep into the ocean big, 10.5 million square miles of ocean between cali and china big.
  • the only hope is by changing our current behavior and habits
  • our planet is a closed system; what happens on earth stays on earth ...so the plastic? it's going to be sitting around in the oceans and land for all our future generations
  • it's the small things that got us here, so it's the small things that can stop it

Friday "Fall-iday Series" : FULL (update)

Quick announcement: the Friday FALL II "Fall-iday Series" music class was at max capacity in less than 24 hours!

Due to popular demand, a THURSDAY morning class has been added on to the schedule. This will be the same series, same time, cost, and place, just different morning. Please visit the main website for additional information. I do hope to get all the wonderful south bay families in!

Thank you for your continued support :)

A fabulous fall, indeed!

I am (so very) happy to announce that I will be moving back to the south bay! Just in time for the beautiful "California fall" beach season. (You know how I love my holidays!!) And I don't know about you, but during all that heat, I couldn't wait for the cold, crisp air to arrive :)

I have accepted a full-time position at Del Amo Hospital as the music therapist on the youth services floor. As this is full-time, I will only be offering a limited amount of classes and private contracts. My session schedule is organized as such:

WINTER: Jan 1 - Feb 28
SPRING I: Mar 1 - Apr 30
SPRING II: May 1 - Jun 30
SUMMER: Jul 1 - Aug 30
FALL I: Sep 1 - Oct 31
FALL II: Nov 1 - Dec 31 (*Current Session)

Each session, I will be available for two private contracts and two classes. This does NOT include one-time sessions (i.e. birthdays and special holiday events). Currently I am booked through the end of the year. If you are interested in having private lessons or starting up your own music class group, please contact me for further information.

Both the MTCSB website and blog have been reorganized for your convenience, so please browse around! Updates will be posted throughout the month. In order to receive these announcements as they arrive, please subscribe at the top left corner of the blog (as not all updates are sent via email).

Also, a "Fall-iday Series" MUSIC-in-ME class has just been announced. What is this you ask? It is my favorite! Each class will be filled with festive songs themed around the fall holidays. Promised to be great fun! Class size is limited to 12 children, so please do reserve your spot by phone or email asap!

Well I believe that is all for now folks :) I look forward to seeing you all again! I have missed you and am ecstatic to return back to our community. Thank you for welcoming me home with big hugs and great smiles!

Lots of love and happiness,
Miss Sara

the class hath overflowed

To those that came for the end-of-summer Music-in-Me class, you made my heart full and happy. Thank you, thank you, for your unending support. I could not believe the attendance. It was so wonderful to see the little ones; their growth is beautiful and amazing. It seems that not much will stop over 40 families from gathering simply to sharing in the beauty of music. In a packed and warm studio, I had the most wonderful Saturday morning with you.

As I mentioned to many, over the next few weeks I will be in the process of laying out future scheduling. I promise, as always, to keep you posted on the latest.

I am a lucky one. To have families like you and friends like this to always keep me young at heart :)
